About Us

The Indiana Heritage Quilt Show (IHQS) is a 501c(3) organization operated fully by a volunteer committee. Our friendly quilt show takes place annually the first weekend in March in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana. Our next show is March 6 - 8, 2025. This will be our 32nd show.

The show features workshops for beginners to advanced quilters, with well-known instructors teaching a variety of skills. Instructors for our 2024 show were Cynthia England, Gyleen Fitzgerald and Sally Terry. The show includes a wide range of vendors with fabrics and notions and numerous non-quilting merchandise as well.

We host special fiber arts exhibits each year from around the country, as well as unique community events at local museums. Every year we bring a featured artist to the show.

Of course, the bulk of the show is made up of competitive quilt entries from around the country (and other countries as well). This is a non-juried show. We invite you to check out our quilt entry rules and awards. Quilts of various categories are judged, and awards are given to the top three entries in each category, plus Best of Show, Exemplary Quilting, and a variety of other prizes. Each year, over 200 quilts are entered, by quilters with a range of experience and expertise. It's a fantastic display of artistry and craftsmanship!

You’ll also have the opportunity to buy a ticket for raffle quilts by local guilds. Consider volunteering during the show — it’s truly a community effort.
