The Indiana Heritage Quilt Show (IHQS) is a 501c(3) organization operated fully by a volunteer committee. It takes place annually the first weekend in March in Bloomington, Indiana. 2020 will be our 29th year of great quilt shows!
The show features workshops for beginners to advanced quilters, with well-known instructors teaching a variety of skills. There is a wide range of vendors at the show with fabrics and notions and numerous non-quilting merchandise as well.
We host special fiber arts exhibits each year from around the country, as well as unique community exhibits at local museums.
Every year we bring to town a featured artist. This year’s artist is Jennifer Broemel.
Of course, the bulk of the show is made up of competitive quilt entries from around the country (and other countries as well!). This is a non-juried show. Quilts of various categories are judged and awards are given to the top three entries in each category, plus Best of Show, Exemplary Quilting, and a variety of other prizes. Each year, around 200 quilts are entered, by quilters with a range of experience and expertise. It's a fantastic display of artistry and craftsmanship!
You’ll also have the opportunity to buy a ticket for raffle quilts by local quilds.
