#101 Charlotte Angotti & Debbie Caffrey Surprise Yourself 
This workshop is brand new and based on the new book of the same title. Imagine twice the fun and twice the information with two instructors in your class. Charlotte and Debbie approach design and construction from two completely different perspectives, and somehow they reach the same destination, a gorgeous quilt of many fabrics. Using simple units, quilters will be guided through constructing and designing their own quilts. Color and value play a big part of this workshop. They will provide kits that are a combination of laxer cut pieces and precut strips to give you a quick start in class. $75.00 kit purchase required. Skill level: All

This class is designed for the beginning quilter, as well as those with some free-motion quilting experience. All students will benefit from the informative handout detailing Mary’s approach for her award winning machine quilting techniques. #103 Becky Goldsmith Texas Tulip
Learn the fine art of hand appliqué with Becky. She will teach you the techniques that will help you sew better and happier. In addition to easy template making and how to make and use a placement for appliqué, you will perfect your invisible appliqué stitch as you work on your block. Stitching techniques include cutaway appliqué, outer and inner points, and curves. Students will work on the center 12” block. The pattern for this small quilt is included. Skill level: All

#104 Bonnie K. Hunter Pineapple Blossom - CLOSED
If you want to make a dent in your “stash” while creating a beautiful, fast, fun quilt Bonnie has the class for you. Pineapple Blossom is a “faux” pineapple block pattern made from 2” scrap strips. You might even want to swap some fabric with your fellow classmates. The pattern is free online, and the size can be as big as you want. Bonnie has helped thousands of quilters create beautiful scrap quilts while having a great time and learning all her hints and tricks. #105 RaNae Merrill Magic Mirror Mandala Quilt

In this class RaNae will teach simple techniques for designing a spiral mandala quilt. You’ll explore “seeing between the blocks”, proportion, flow forms, color and value, and mirror symmetry. Make this cozy lap quilt, table topper or table runner using Donna’s new folded layers technique from “Flip Your Way to Fabulous Quilts”. #107 Andrea Bishop Electric Quilt Basics (am)
If you want to EQ and don’t know how, this is the class for you! Start from scratch and cover the basics of Electric Quilt software. You will learn how designing, coloring, drawing, saving, and printing work. You will make a few quilts and blocks, and then see what your patterns look like. By the end of this class you will have the skills to create and print designs of your own. Skill level: All

#108 Andrea Bishop Electric Quilt Sashing & Borders (pm)
Simple blocks in simple layouts can always be jazzed up with sashing and borders. Sampler quilts sometimes need pieced sashing to unite the unrelated blocks together. In this workshop you will learn how to do all this and more. You will cover classic designs (like the Garden Maze and Storm at Sea) and create your own unique secondary designs. The basics of setting up borders, filling them with blocks and printing the patterns will be covered. You will take borders to the next level and start using the automatic borders and designing your own from scratch. Skill level: All

Finally a class that you know you have brought the right things. In this fun-filled class, a kit of cut fabrics is furnished. This is a wonderful group workshop for those that just want to sew and not have too much cutting and thinking to do. A quilt will be designed for your group. The kit is for the top and doesn’t include borders.The quilt will be a larger wall sized quilt. Charlotte is designing a special quilt just for this class to “surprise” you. #202 Andrea Bishop Electric Quilt Pieced Block Drawing
Want to create your own pieced block designs? In this Electric Quilt software class you will learn to draw a variety of pieced designs. You will start simple and edit existing blocks like the “Ohio Star” or “Four Patch”, then move into drawing “Lone Stars” and the “New York Beauties”. You will focus on drawing your own sash and border blocks to fit specific quilt needs. The drawing tools covered will unlock a whole new world of design possibilities for you. Skill level: All

#203 Mary Buvia Intermediate Free Motion Quilting

This class is designed for the quilter with some free-motion experience, even if limited to stippling. Mary’s beginning class is suggested as a pre-requisite, but is not required. Many types of background quilting styles and fillers will be taught, along with their stitching techniques. A handout of tips and tricks for quilters is included. A complete discussion of quilting design marking tools, blocking techniques and reference materials will be presented. An original pattern is included in the class fee. #204 Debbie Caffrey Power Cutting, and Power Cutting Too!
Debbie is the queen of “Power Cutting” and she’s ready to share her techniques with you. Power cutting is a fast and efficient approach to rotary cutting and improving the precision of quiltmaking. “Efficient” speaks to accuracy, economy, ergonomics, safety, and organization, as well as speeding up the process. Power cutting is a collection of cutting techniques that allows quilters to choose one that is suited for the task at hand. Working with scraps, strips and charm squares requires different techniques than working with yardage of a few fabrics. Learn how to decide upon a plan of attack. In this class you will learn and practice the processes instead of making a project. Skill Level: All

#205 Becky Goldsmith Chirp-Appliqué with Attitude
Let Becky open up a whole new quilting world for you as you learn to appliqué with attitude the Piece O’ Cake way! Your stitches not only hold the appliqué in place, they embellish as well! You will learn the tricks of needleturn hand appliqué and sewing as you create the perky bird block. This is needle turn with cute, visible stitches made with perle cotton. Have fun with Bonnie and clear out scraps by choosing two color families: a foreground (Blue) and a background (Neutral). Make a Baravelle spiral quilt that all your friends will say is simply amazing. In this class RaNae will teach you to draw, color and foundation-piece a Baravell spiral. You will also learn how to select fabrics by color and value, and pick up techniques for foundation piecing that make it easier than ever. Baravelle spirals look complicated, but they’re actually easy to sew, and there are no curved seams! You’ll have time to complete up to three blocks to get your quilt started. Mary has won many top awards for her wonderful quilting and appliqué. In this class she will share her award winning techniques with this pattern. You will learn preparation, cutting and stitching. Debbie has designed more than 200 mystery quilt patterns since 1994. A mystery quilt workshop is a fun day of sewing. Debbie has chosen a new, special mystery for this show with options to be scrappy, or just use four different fabrics. The pattern will use 10” squares, 5” squares, and 2 ½” wide strips so you can dig into your precut collections! (She sometimes refers to them as dimes, nickels, and worms.) #308 Andrea Bishop Electric Quilt Appliqué & Stencil (am)
Want to create your own appliqué and quilting stencil designs? In this Electric Quilt software class you will learn to draw appliqué designs and stencils using the Patch Draw tools. You will start by drawing a simple flower then learn how to turn it into an elaborate wreath. You will learn tracing techniques for drawing lines around images that might be on the computer to create realistic patterns. In the stencil portion, you will practice with the Freehand tool and learn to draw custom quilting stencils to fit pieced blocks in your quilts. Skill level: All

#309 Andrea Bishop EQ7 Layout and Layers (pm)
Custom Set and Layers have been vastly improved in EQ7. It’s so easy to just drag and drop what you need onto the quilt. If you are tired of designing quilts only in straight sets with blocks all the same size, then this workshop will help you learn how to use EQ7 to make custom quilts with blocks of all different sizes. In addition to custom quilts, you will work with medallion quilts, row quilts, and other complex-looking layouts. Practice setting appliqué motifs, stencils, photos, and embroidery on your quilts.
