The Pohl Family gets together at Grandma’s (Mom’s) house for marbling of fabric and other creative projects. The fabrics in this quilt were marbled by members of my family, ages 10 to 72, and me. The fabrics were pieced together with other hand-dyed fabrics. Appliquéd squares were added and the piece was free-motion machine quilted. The simple design has inspired two of the younger family members to start their own quilt project. Grandma (Mom) and my sister inspired me to do this, my first-ever entry. Source of Design: Original. Pattern from a 2005 class by Karen Kay Buckley at IQF. Hand-appliquéd batik flowers, leaves and vase highlighted by washes of Lumiere paint.
