Reversible jacket and purse made from rayon boucle knit fabric and bordered in micro-suede are decorated with circle appliqués in a variety of rayons, silks, brocades, bum-outs, cotton prints and georgette. Some appliqués are slashed or quilled for more texture. Appliqués are finished with bias binding. Additional bias appliqués are added. Hand-made frogs act as closures. |

Free-formed fabric shapes combined in a natural design of rich, subtly blended colors, textures and abstract patterns of the colors of nature in autumn. Hand-dyed cotton sateens, over-dyed decorator cottons, and over-dyed silks, basted to flannel and machine appliquéd on edges. Lined with cotton. Design from June Colburn's "Asian Quarters" coat pattern. |

In this original design jacket, I wanted to be totally free of any rigid patterns and to incorporate beautiful, colorful fabrics, yarn and beads in the design. All pieces were cut as free-form shapes without a pattern. The design evolved as I worked - free of constraints. |
